DSSC Distance LMR 2021 Results

Wow! Wow! Wow! The Sungod Swim Club had an impressive 40 athletes from Senior Performance/Development and Junior Performance/Development at the DSSC Distance LMR on December 5th, 2021. DSSC achieved 75% best times of the 40 athletes who competed.

What is a distance LMR? A distance LMR is one whereby an athlete competes in either a 400, 800, or 1500 freestyle. This meet was a huge success for our athletes as it exposed them to a different kind of swim meet as well as highlighted the difference in race strategies between a distance and sprint event. Also, for many of the athletes who attended, it was the first distance LMR ever; congratulations to those athletes!

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents who volunteered at the swim meet. DSSC would not have been able to run the meet without you all and greatly appreciate your time and dedication to our club.

Finally, congratulations to Max Zha (14) who achieved a provincial standard and broke his previous 13-14yr old male club record, in the 800 free with a time of 9:15.34. Way to go Max!
