Welcome back to another fun and exciting season with team sungod. If you're newly joining us this season welcome to the first installment of the 2024/2025 seasons swimmer of the month! This is where we recognize a swimmer in each group that has done something extraordinary in their month of training and racing. This month swimmers raced at the Spartan sprint starter, Fun meet, Mini meet, pass meet and WDSC spookarama.
The coaches are excited to announce.....
Swimmer of the month for October
Learn to compete: Laura Yang
Laura has been working so hard at being brave in her racing. This month she raced at both the fun meet and mini meet and really pushed herself to many personal best times. Her hard work in practice has been showing up in all her racing and it's been great to see!
Learn to compete Gold: Kazuho Stielow
Swimmer of the Month for LTC Gold was decided based on attitude and work ethic and Kazuho deserves this win!
Kazuho comes to every practice excited and eager to learn. He works hard in every practice and that work is starting to pay off with an ever improving 100IM time in practice.
Novice: Kaiyo Wang
Kaiyo has started the season off very strong both in practice and competition. Kaiyo always works hard in practice and shows up on time to the pool. He recently achieved his 100m IM time of 2:10.00 meaning he is now working towards his LMR time of 4:00.00 in the 200m IM. Way to go Kaiyo!
Regional: Sid Gumballi
Sid has shown he is always willing to work and improve himself during the month of October. Sid was able to achieve his LMR qualifying time of 4:00.00 in the 200m IM during practice. The hard work in practice has paid off for Sid, way to go!
Junior Blue & White: Gulu Hsieh
This month the coaches looked at kids that just got things done well. Did they train hard? Did they race hard? Has their hard work paid off? We saw all of this in Gulu Hsueh’s workouts and swimming at Hyack.
Congratulations to Gulu on October’s Swimmer of the Month. He has done a great job of getting the work done in the most thoughtful way, with the highest efforts and dedication to his tasks. The coaching staff is extremely proud of the changes in Gulu’s swimming over the last 6 months and we can’t wait to see what he does from here.
Senior White: Riya Rai
The Senior White Swimmer of the Month for October was decided based on swim meet attendance. Riya Rai has not missed a swim meet yet this season and has already signed up for all upcoming meets that she can. This dedication to racing is exactly what we have been working so hard for in practice and it’s great to see it in action.
Senior Blue & Gold: Max Zha
Max continues to show his work ethic and determination to qualify for the senior national level. The Hyack meet proved to everyone that his dedication is paying off. He epitomizes that hard work does indeed pay off and also that this sport can be unforgiving.
