Wishing all of our Canadian Olympians our best!
The 2024 Paris Olympics are now officially underway! The swimmers, staff and parents wish all of our Canadian Olympians the best of luck in their endeavours these next coming weeks.
As always, I encourage parents and swimmers alike to take the time to watch the swimming events. This meet is 9 days long, and filled with some of the fastest swimmers in the world. While you watch, listen to the narratives. What has each athlete done? What are their goals going into the meet? Will Emma McKeon three-peat? Will Maggie McNeil rise up again to get another Canadian medal? And what about Summer MacIntosh? The story I am most interested in following is; will Chad LeClos come back for the 400th time at the Olympics since the dawn of time (okay, not that long), and do something amazing!?
Let your kids tell their stories of what they think the Olympics are, their dreams and goals. These next days of swimming could drive them to bigger and better things even beyond swimming.
I have linked the swimming schedule. Remember that these are prelim and finals. Finals and semis are always better to watch, but prelims may allow you to see some our slower seeded Canadians.
