Unless swimmers are racing, they are not allowed to be on deck and no chairs on deck for swimmers. Parents and families are not permitted to bring chairs on deck. Chairs must stay in the tents outside of the pool. All tents, canopies and chairs on the grass area must be removed at the end of each day.
Delta will be bringing a tent.
Weather/Clothing:
Remember that this meet runs regardless of outside temperatures, or weather conditions. Barring tornatodes, or lightning, this meet will be run. Please make sure that swimmers are bringing appropriate clothing for prelims when it could be very warm, and during the evening for finals when the weather cools down. The coaches also advise bringing tinted goggles, and rainwear/plastic bags to keep stuff dry.
Spectators:
There are limited bleachers on deck. Spectators must vacate the deck area after your swimmers have swum their races to make room for other parents. Parents and swimmers are not allowed to stay on the bleachers all day.
Parking:
The parking lot is at the south side of the pool and also at Swangard Stadium. There is also residential parking but please be aware of the 2 hour parking limitation.
Washrooms:
There will be 2 porta potties located on the north-west corner of the pool and public washrooms on the east side of the pool.
Food & Beverage:
There will be food trucks. Starbucks is a 10-minute walk
Please be aware of signup deadlines and make sure you have signed your child up on time. DSSC coaches will not be able to get athletes into the meets after those deadlines.
If you are asking to remove your child from the swim meet prior to the sign up deadline just change your Declaration on the club's website.
If you are asking to remove your child from the swim meet after the deadline but prior to the scratch deadline (as posted in the meet package), please email the Head Coach at headcoach@teamsungod.ca.
If you are asking to remove your child after the scratch deadline please inform your coach, but understand that you are responsible for all fees unless a medical note is given to the meet manager.
Swimmers are responsible for knowing whether or not they make a final. If a swimmer fails to attend their respective second swim, and there is a fine (usually 20$) their accounts will be charged.
Relays are part of finals or prelims. Teams can be adjusted up until the start of the session they are swam in. Relay team members will be notified during the preliminary session whether or not they are swimming in a relay. If a swimmer fails to show up for a relay the cost of the relay will be charged to their account.
Swimmers should bring:
- DELTA Sungod Race Suit (this is different than the suit you practice in everyday)
- 2x DELTA cap
- 2x goggles
- DELTA t-shirt
- deck clothes (maybe bring shorts and pants depending on deck temperature)
- deck shoes (most heat is lost via the feet, and it keeps your feet wart free)
- 2x towels
- water bottle
- healthy snacks
- activities (homework, cards, the coaching staff would like swimmers to avoid video games on deck)
- We encourage swimmers to not bring electronic devices. We go as a team and would rather have everyone cheer.
